Vaux Site

The Vaux Site, located in the heart of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, is a significant redevelopment area that was once home to the Vaux Breweries until its closure in 1999. Currently undergoing a multi-million pound transformation, the site will feature up to 19 new buildings dedicated to leisure, retail, residential, and office spaces. The redevelopment began in 2016, and despite challenges, including the collapse of the original contractor Carillion, progress has continued with the completion of key structures like 'the beam' office building and the New City Hall. Future plans include a new eye infirmary unit and a footbridge, Keel Crossing, set to enhance connectivity to nearby attractions like the Stadium of Light. This revitalization project not only aims to breathe new life into the area but also to create a vibrant community hub for both locals and visitors.
