Pingtung Tutorial Academy

The Pingtung Tutorial Academy, established in 1815 during the Qing Dynasty, is a historic educational institution located in Pingtung City, Taiwan. Originally built to promote local scholarship, it later became a Confucius Temple before facing abandonment due to funding issues. In 1937, efforts by scholars led to its preservation and relocation to its current site. The academy features traditional architecture with 36 dormitory rooms and a lecture hall. It is easily accessible from Pingtung Station, making it a noteworthy stop for tourists and researchers interested in Taiwan's educational history and architectural heritage.
