Daniel Building

The Daniel Building is a prominent 20-story office building in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, standing at 238 feet tall. Completed in 1970, it originally housed the regional office of Daniel International and later became the headquarters for its real estate division. After a significant renovation in 1993, it became the corporate headquarters for Compass Bancshares and currently serves as office space for PNC Financial Services. Notably, it is the tallest building outside the Central Business District in Birmingham. In 2010, the building experienced a two-alarm electrical fire that caused extensive damage, but it has since been repaired. Recently, in September 2023, UAB Medicine Enterprise acquired the building for $16 million, marking a new chapter in its history.
