Alma Mater (Daniel Chester French)

Alma Mater is a bronze sculpture by Daniel Chester French installed on the steps of Columbia University's Low Memorial Library in 1903. The seated allegorical female figure represents the university and holds a laurel wreath. The work has long functioned as a campus landmark and gathering place and is maintained by Columbia University.
