House of Lukin

The House of Lukin, located at Anton Glushko Lane, 15 in Taganrog, is a notable architectural monument with a rich history dating back to 1827. Originally constructed and later rebuilt in the 1910s, it was owned by the Lukin family, prominent figures in the local community. Vasily Pavlovich Lukin, a significant contributor to maritime education, authored a widely used navigation book and held various civic roles. His wife, Sofya, was a pioneer in children's education, establishing the city's first kindergarten. The house served various purposes over the years, including housing a shoe workshop and military management during the civil war. Since 1992, it has been legally protected as a monument of architecture, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
