Little Red Lighthouse (Jeffrey's Hook Light)

The Little Red Lighthouse, officially Jeffrey's Hook Light, is a small cast-iron lighthouse located under the George Washington Bridge on the Hudson River. The light was moved to its current site in 1921 and was decommissioned in 1948. Public interest sparked by the 1942 children's book 'The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge' helped preserve the structure, which is now maintained as a historic landmark and popular riverside landmark.
