Josiah Beard House

The Josiah Beard House, located at 70 School Street in Waltham, Massachusetts, is a historic Greek Revival house built around 1844. This well-preserved structure features a gable roof, clapboard exterior, and distinctive architectural details such as paneled corner boards and fluted Doric columns on its porch. Notably, Joseph Beard, the probable builder and a significant figure in local politics, may have contributed to the invention of the bottle cap. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 and offers a glimpse into the architectural and political history of the area.
