Beechwood (Astor mansion)

Beechwood is a historic Gilded Age mansion located in Newport, Rhode Island, originally built for clothing merchant Daniel Parish and later owned by the prominent Astor family. Designed in the Italianate style by architects Andrew Jackson Downing and Calvert Vaux, the mansion features a rich history, including renovations by Richard Morris Hunt and lavish parties hosted by Mrs. Astor. Although it was once a popular tourist attraction with theatrical tours, Beechwood remains a private residence today, owned by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, who has invested significantly in its restoration.
