University Place Office Building

The University Place Office Building, constructed in 1924, was a historic six-story structure located on the University of Pittsburgh campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Originally designed as the Schenley Office Physicians Building, it served as a hub for medical professionals associated with the university's medical school. In its later years, it housed the University Center for Social and Urban Research (UCSUR), a key resource for social and behavioral sciences research. The building was demolished in 2011 to make way for Nordenberg Hall, a modern residence hall that opened in 2013, featuring amenities like a wellness center, fitness room, and communal spaces designed to foster student interaction. The site is also noted in literature, being the namesake of a book by Louis Panesi.
