St. Mary's Basilica

St. Mary's Basilica is one of Phoenix's oldest Catholic church buildings; the current brick church was completed in 1914 and replaced an earlier parish structure dating to the 1880s. The basilica retains much of its historic fabric and has served continuously as a downtown parish. It occupies a prominent site in Phoenix's original urban core and reflects early 20th-century ecclesiastical infrastructure in the city.
