Old Ipswich Courthouse

The Old Ipswich Courthouse, located in Ipswich, Queensland, is a heritage-listed site designed by architect Charles Tiffin and completed in 1859. This sandstone and brick building served as the main courthouse for the district until 1982 and is notable for its Romanesque architectural style. It features a central courtroom and was used for public meetings in its early years. The courthouse is significant for its historical role in Queensland's development and is a rare example of a government building constructed before Queensland's separation from New South Wales.
