Arctic Club Building (Arctic Club Hotel)

The Arctic Club Building was completed in 1914 as the headquarters for the Arctic Club, a fraternal organization of Alaska gold rush businessmen, and features terra-cotta ornamentation with polar bear and nautical motifs referencing that history. The building later became the Arctic Club Hotel while retaining much of its historic interior and exterior detailing. Its association with the Klondike era and Alaska commerce is a recurring theme in local stories about Seattle's early 20th-century growth.
