Leech–Hauer House

The Leech–Hauer House, built around 1830 in Huntsville, Alabama, exemplified a blend of Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles. Constructed by carpenter William Leech, this two-story, L-shaped residence featured a front porch that was later enclosed. After being owned by the Hauer family from 1904 until 1974, it was sold to a flower shop and later purchased by physician Parker Griffith in 1977. The house was recognized for its historical significance, being listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage and the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Unfortunately, it was demolished in 1988 to make way for a modern medical office building.
