Texas Tourist Camp

The Texas Tourist Camp, located in Decatur, Texas, is a historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Established in 1927 by local businessman Emmet Franklin Boydston, it began as a simple gas station and camping area for travelers. Over the years, it evolved into a more developed camp with wooden cabins, reflecting the growth of tourism in the area. The Boydston family managed the camp until 1988, and it has since been revitalized by Boydston's granddaughter, Nancy Rosendahl. This site offers a glimpse into early 20th-century travel and hospitality in Texas.
