Villa Kleineh

Villa Kleineh, also known as the House of Adlercreutz, is a historic villa located in Kaivopuisto, Helsinki, serving as the official residence of the Dutch ambassador to Finland. Built in the early 1840s, it showcases Empire-style architecture with later classicist modifications. Originally constructed for guests of nearby bathhouses, it has a rich history, including ownership by restaurateur Louis Kleineh and later Leopold Lerche, who significantly renovated the property. The villa is surrounded by ghost stories, particularly about Maria Kleineh, and has appeared in Finnish cinema. Today, it stands as a protected site, reflecting both its architectural significance and cultural heritage.
