Cantol Wax Company Building

The Cantol Wax Company Building, also known as the Oakes Manufacturing Company Building, is a historic industrial site in Bloomington, Indiana, built between 1905 and 1907. This impressive structure features a 3.5-story front section and a 2.5-story rear addition, showcasing Classical Revival design elements with a sturdy rubble limestone foundation and terra cotta block walls. Originally serving the Oakes Manufacturing Company, it later became home to the Cantol Wax Company after 1920. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and is part of the Bloomington West Side Historic District, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
