Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History

The Charles H. Wright Museum, located in Detroit's Cultural Center, opened at its current building in 1997 and houses extensive exhibits on African American history, culture, and the civil rights movement. The museum operates permanent and rotating exhibitions, educational programs, and the annual International Afro-American Museum Conference. It is one of the largest institutions of its kind and a major center for community and scholarly activity in Detroit.
