Mountain View Officers' Club

The Mountain View Officers' Club, established in 1942, is a historic site in Arizona that served as a recreational facility for African American soldiers at Fort Huachuca, which had the highest number of Black soldiers in the U.S. military from 1892 to 1946. After being vacated in 1998, it faced potential demolition but was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017, sparking restoration efforts. With funding from various organizations, including the National Park Service, plans are underway to rehabilitate the club into a Range Operations Synchronization Center while also creating exhibit space to honor the contributions of Black soldiers during World War II, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in military history and civil rights.
