Henlein & Co Building

The Henlein & Co Building, located at 408–410 Flinders Street in Townsville, Queensland, is a heritage-listed commercial structure built between 1901 and 1902. Designed by the architectural firm Eaton, Bates & Polin, this two-storey building showcases Federation-era architecture with its load-bearing brick walls and decorative features such as arched windows and a centrally placed entrance. Originally home to local wine and spirits merchants, it has housed various businesses over the years, including a prominent retailer of household furnishings. Listed on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992, the building is significant for its contribution to the streetscape and its representation of Queensland's commercial history, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
