Ford Field (indoor stadium and Super Bowl host)

Ford Field opened in 2002 as the home of the NFL's Detroit Lions and is an indoor stadium constructed on a former department-store warehouse site in downtown Detroit. The stadium hosted Super Bowl XL on February 5, 2006, and regularly hosts NFL games, college football, concerts, and large-scale civic events. Ford Field is part of the city's sports and entertainment complex adjacent to other downtown venues.
