Jean and Inez Bregant House

The Jean and Inez Bregant House, also known as The Little Peoples' House, is a unique historic building in Council Bluffs, Iowa, designed specifically for little people. Built in the Craftsman style, this 1½-story house features distinctive architectural elements like polygonal and rectangular bays, and a full-size porch. Inside, it has four rooms and a bath, with special accommodations for entertaining full-size guests, including a miniature clawfoot bathtub and low furnishings. After the Bregants, who were Vaudeville performers, passed away, the house changed ownership and some original features were altered. Currently owned by Preserve Council Bluffs, efforts are underway to restore it to its original state. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in unique architectural history and the lives of performers.
