Pearl Brewery Complex

The Pearl Brewery complex began as the San Antonio Brewing Association in the late 19th century and grew into a large red-brick industrial brewery with multiple surviving 19th- and early-20th-century buildings. After the brewery closed in the 1990s, the site was redeveloped into a mixed-use district preserving the historic industrial architecture, including the brewhouse and bottling plant. The complex now houses restaurants, retail, residential units, and the Culinary Institute of America campus, illustrating adaptive reuse of industrial architecture in San Antonio.
