Flat Iron Building (Asheville, North Carolina)

The Flat Iron Building, a historic nine-story structure in Asheville, North Carolina, was completed in 1926 and designed by architect Albert C. Wirth. Originally home to various businesses and Asheville's oldest radio station, WWNC, it played a significant role in the city's cultural history, including hosting the first broadcast of Jimmie Rodgers, the 'Father of Country Music.' After a series of renovations and ownership changes, the building is being transformed into the Flat Iron Hotel, set to open in May 2024, featuring a restaurant, rooftop bar, and preserved historic elements.
