Big Tex (the 'World's Tallest Cowboy')

Big Tex is a roughly 55-foot-tall cowboy statue that has served as the icon of the State Fair of Texas since 1952. The State Fair and Fair Park commonly promote Big Tex as the 'World's Tallest Cowboy.' The original figure was destroyed by fire in 2012 and a new, updated Big Tex was unveiled in 2013. The statue stands at the main entrance to Fair Park during the annual State Fair of Texas.
