Gilmore Building

The Gilmore Building, also known as the Gilmore Hotel, is a historic three-story masonry structure located at 326 Front Street in Ketchikan, Alaska. Constructed in 1926-27 by P. J. Gilmore, Sr., it was designed to accommodate the growing demand for retail space and hotel rooms in the burgeoning community. The building features a unique reversed L shape with three commercial storefronts on the ground floor and hotel rooms above. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 and stands as one of the few surviving buildings from the 1920s in Ketchikan, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers alike.
