Plas Dulas

Plas Dulas was a historic mansion located in Llanddulas, Conwy, north Wales, known for its literary connections and beautiful gardens. Built around 1840, it was once owned by Elizabeth Easthope, whose family had ties to notable figures like Charles Dickens and Evelyn Waugh, the latter of whom wrote part of his novel 'Decline and Fall' while visiting. The mansion passed through various owners, including Richard MacGillivray Dawkins, who cultivated Mediterranean gardens and entertained famous guests. After serving as a Christian retreat, Plas Dulas fell into disrepair and was ultimately demolished in 2024, marking the end of its storied history.
