Mystery Castle - Boyce Luther Gulley’s found-material structure

Mystery Castle is a fortress-like house in the foothills of South Mountain built by Boyce Luther Gulley in the 1930s using recycled and found materials. Gulley constructed the multiroom complex as a gift for his daughter, and the site retains many original eclectic architectural features and handcrafted details. The property has been open for public tours on a scheduled basis and is a locally recognized quirky landmark in Phoenix.
