Carpenters' Hall (18th-century meeting hall)

Carpenters' Hall was completed in 1774 by the Carpenters' Company of the City and County of Philadelphia and served as a purpose-built guild hall and meeting space. The hall hosted the First Continental Congress in 1774 and is preserved as a rare intact example of colonial civic architecture and an early American assembly building. It remains owned by the Carpenters' Company and operates as a historic site and museum.
