Moore House (Yorktown, Virginia)

The Moore House, located in Colonial National Historical Park, York County, Virginia, is a historic site where pivotal negotiations for British General Cornwallis's surrender took place during the American Revolutionary War. Built around 1725 on Temple Farm, the house has a rich history, originally part of land granted to the Crown Governor of Virginia. It became significant during the Siege of Yorktown when Cornwallis chose it for surrender discussions, leading to the signing of the Articles of Capitulation on October 19, 1781.
