The Champaign County Courthouse, located at 101 East Main Street in Urbana, Illinois, serves as the governmental center and courthouse for Champaign County. Established in 1833, the courthouse has a rich history, evolving from early log and frame structures to the impressive Romanesque Revival-style Old Courthouse built between 1900 and 1901, designed by local architect Joseph W. Royer. Notable for its 135-foot clock tower, the courthouse complex has undergone significant expansions, including a large addition completed in 2002 to accommodate growing county functions.
