Holstein Mansion

The Holstein Mansion, a stunning Baroque-style town mansion located on Stormgade in central Copenhagen, dates back to the late 17th century. Originally built for Hofmarschall Henrik Ulrik Lützow, it underwent significant expansions in the 18th century under the Holstein family, particularly by royal sculptor Jacob Fortling. The mansion served various purposes, including housing the Royal Museum of Natural History until 1871. After a period of government use, it was renovated in 2016 into private apartments. Visitors can admire its elegant architecture, which features a balustrade adorned with vases and statues, and explore its rich history that reflects the evolution of Copenhagen's urban landscape.
