Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) at the University of Pennsylvania

The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania was founded in 1963 and is one of the oldest university-affiliated contemporary art galleries in the United States. In 2022 the ICA opened a new purpose-built building at its Penn campus to expand exhibition and program space for emerging and mid-career contemporary artists. The ICA has a history of presenting early exhibitions by artists who later gained wider recognition and of commissioning site-specific contemporary work.
