Gota de Leche Building

The Gota de Leche Building, located in Sampaloc, Manila, is a significant cultural heritage site recognized as an Important Cultural Property by the National Museum of the Philippines. Completed in 1915 and designed by architect Arcadio Arellano, the building showcases a unique blend of Spanish Colonial architecture and features such as arched doorways and terracotta spandrels. After surviving World War II, it underwent a meticulous restoration completed in 2002, which preserved its original design and materials, earning it an Honourable Mention in the 2003 UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Awards. This site not only highlights the architectural beauty of the early 20th century but also emphasizes the importance of heritage conservation in urban development.
