Brookings Hall

Brookings Hall is a stunning Collegiate Gothic building located on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Constructed between 1900 and 1902, it originally served as the administrative center for the 1904 World's Fair. Designed by the Philadelphia firm Cope and Stewardson, the building features a large square tower and intricate architectural details inspired by historic colleges in England. Renamed in 1928 to honor board president Robert S. Brookings, the hall is adorned with meaningful inscriptions and has played a significant role in university history, including serving as a mission control center for adventurer Steve Fossett's balloon circumnavigation attempts. Today, it houses various administrative offices, making it a central hub for students and visitors alike.
