Our Lady of Mercy's Chapel (Clove Valley, New York)

The Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy, located in Clove Valley, Dutchess County, New York, is a historic former Roman Catholic parish church established in 1885 to serve local Catholic families working in nearby iron mines. Built by the miners themselves, the chapel could accommodate about fifty people and featured a small steeple. It was situated on Dutchess Route 9, approximately 3.7 miles north of Route 55. Although it remained operational until around 1947, the chapel reflects the community's resilience and dedication during a time when access to worship was a significant challenge for many.
