Whaley House (Old Town San Diego) - site built over former gallows

The Whaley House, built by Thomas Whaley in 1857, occupies the site of San Diego's mid-19th-century county courthouse and the public gallows where an 1852 execution occurred. It is operated as a historic house museum and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
