Bartram's Garden - America’s oldest botanic garden

Bartram's Garden was founded by naturalist John Bartram in 1728 and is recognized as the oldest surviving botanic garden in the United States. The site includes the historic John Bartram House (built c.1731) and extensive historic plantings and collections used for botanical study and conservation. Bartram's Garden is a National Historic Landmark and continues public programs, urban agriculture, and stewardship of the Schuylkill River waterfront.
