Detroit Commerce Building

The Detroit Commerce Building, located at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Shelby Street in downtown Detroit, was a notable 13-story high-rise built in 1915 in the Chicago School architectural style. Originally serving as the headquarters for the People's Outfitting Company department store, it later housed the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce and various city agencies. After its closure in 1959, the building was repurposed for office use until its demolition in 2007, paving the way for a parking garage and condominiums developed by Roxbury Group between 2015 and 2016.
