Coateswood

Coateswood, also known as the Job Johnstone House, is a historic Greek Revival style home located in Newberry, South Carolina. Built in 1841, this architectural gem features a striking gabled roof and monumental Roman Doric columns that enhance its grand facade. Originally a three-story structure, it underwent modifications in the 1940s, including the removal of the third floor. The property also includes a garage, well house, and a building known as the Long House. Coateswood was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
