Fossoli camp

The Fossoli camp, located in the village of Fossoli, Carpi, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, was a significant WWII concentration camp that operated from 1942 to 1970. Initially established as a prisoner of war camp, it later became a Jewish concentration camp and a transit point for deportations to Auschwitz. Over 2,800 Jews were deported from Fossoli, with the camp also serving as a labor collection center and a refuge for displaced persons after the war.
