Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library (joint city–university library)

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library opened in 2003 as a joint-use facility operated by San Jose State University and the City of San Jose. It combines university academic resources with municipal public library services in a single central downtown building, serving students and the general public. The collaboration was one of the largest public–university library partnerships in the United States at the time of its opening.
