Las Vegas Springs (limestone spring deposits at Springs Preserve)

The Las Vegas Springs Preserve preserves the site of the historic Las Vegas Springs, where artesian limestone springs once produced marshes and supported the valley's original riparian habitat that drew early settlers. The preserve's visitor center and interpretive trails explain the area's carbonate rock and groundwater geology, and the springs' historical role in the founding and early water supply of Las Vegas. Portions of the preserve display spring-related tufa and sediment deposits created by long-term mineral-rich spring outflow.
