Gilbert and Samuel McKown House

The Gilbert and Samuel McKown House, known as 'Marshy Dell', is a historic log dwelling located near Gerrardstown in Berkeley County, West Virginia. Built in two phases, the eastern section dates back to around 1774 by Gilbert McKown, while the western addition was completed by his son Samuel around 1810. The property also features a unique 1.5-story stone outbuilding. Recognized for its historical significance, Marshy Dell was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it an intriguing site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and history.
