Belmont Mansion

Belmont Mansion was constructed in the early 1850s for Adelicia Acklen and is an example of antebellum Italianate architecture. The house is preserved as a historic house museum on the Belmont University campus and interprets the estate's 19th-century history. The mansion survived the Civil War and later became part of the institutions that evolved into Belmont University before preservation efforts established its museum status.
