Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern - subterranean public art space

The Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern is a former 1920s underground drinking water reservoir that was decommissioned and reopened in 2016 as a public venue for art installations, tours, and events. The space is notable for its forest of 221 concrete columns and its reuse as a contemporary cultural site operated in partnership with Buffalo Bayou Partnership. It has become a distinctive local attraction for architecture and art enthusiasts.
