The Driskill Hotel - historic downtown landmark

The Driskill Hotel opened in 1886 and is widely regarded as one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in Texas. Built by cattle baron Jesse Driskill, the Romanesque Revival building has hosted presidents, celebrities, and political events and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its lobby and bar remain notable examples of late 19th-century hotel architecture in Austin.
