Palais de Glace

The Palais de Glace is a stunning Belle Époque building located in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Inaugurated in 1911, it originally served as an ice skating rink and social club, designed with a central circular rink and elegant social spaces. As ice skating waned in popularity, the venue transformed into a prominent dance hall for tango, showcasing renowned orchestras and dancers. Over the decades, it has served various purposes, including housing the National Office of Fine Arts and hosting the National Exhibition of Fine Arts. The building, which features a striking domed roof and was remodeled by architect Alejandro Bustillo, has been a cultural hub for art exhibitions and musical events since 1960. Declared a National Historic Monument in 2004, the Palais de Glace continues to celebrate Argentina's rich artistic heritage.
