Fairchild House, Hoxton

Fairchild House is a notable 1950s apartment block located in the Pitfield Estate of Hoxton, London, recognized as the largest council block built by Hackney Council at the time. This six-storey red brick building showcases unique Art Deco and Streamline Moderne architectural features, particularly on its Northern elevation. Named after the 17th-century gardener Thomas Fairchild, the site also has historical significance due to nearby plague pits from the Black Plague of 1665-1666.
