Ramsay-Durfee Estate

The Ramsay-Durfee Estate, also known as Durfee Mansion, is a stunning Tudor Revival mansion located in the West Adams Terrace neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Completed in 1908, this historic 42-room residence was designed by architect Frederick Louis Roehrig and features exquisite architectural details, including a grand mahogany staircase and a vast ballroom. The estate, set on a 2.8-acre site with formal gardens, has been recognized as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built for lumberman William E. Ramsay, the mansion later became a social hub for Hollywood in the 1920s under the ownership of William G. and Nellie McGaughey Durfee. The estate remains largely unchanged since the 1970s and offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of its former residents.
