Eagle's Nest (Bridgeport, Connecticut)

Eagle's Nest, also known as the Johnson-DeRivera House, was a historic home in Bridgeport, Connecticut, built between 1830 and 1832. It served as the centerpiece of a large farm and is notable for being the residence of one of Connecticut's first Puerto Rican immigrants, Jose DeRivera. The house featured a distinctive two-story wood-frame structure with a gabled roof and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Unfortunately, it was later damaged by arson and demolished, with the Jettie Tisdale School now occupying its site. This location offers a glimpse into the rich agricultural history of the area and the early contributions of Puerto Rican immigrants to Connecticut.
